Makeup maestro Beau Nelson created this dramatic makeup effect in beautiful burgundies for Kristen Stewart. Says Nelson, “I wanted to create a dark punk shape to the eye, but give it some edgy elegance by working in reds, burgundies and blacks. The look came together beautifully with the deep burgundy jumpsuit Kristen wore.” Here’s how to get the look.
Siblings-in-fash Camilla and Marc Freeman first launched their eponymous label at Australia Fashion Week in 2003. Fast forward 10 years and since their humble beginnings, you can find the brand’s signature minimalist silhouettes, tailoring and luxurious dresses in some of the most significant stores, and on the backs of some of the best dressed ladies in the limelight. “They are all innately chic, but with their own edge,” Camilla told us of their A-list following, “Each [of them] are confident young women, who know who they are and like to mix luxe casualness into however they dress.” Rihanna, Kristen Stewart and Miranda Kerr are in the club, but has there ever been a favourite? “Kristen Stewart was certainly one of them,” the duo admitted, “It was just when the Twilight-mania had begun to really take a grip on the world and because of that moment, we had a huge response internationally.”
Kristen’s go-to West Coast makeup artist, Jillian Dempsey created a sultry jewel-toned eye and pretty neutral pout for Kristen’s KCA look. Here, she gives a fantastic overview of the Chanel products she used and application secrets!
Kristen Stewart chose a fun, printed ensemble by Osman for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards this weekend, and her manicurist Ashlie Johnson played off of the deep tones of the look to inspire Stewart’s metallic eggplant nails. “Her outfit was this gorgeous purple-blue that looks different depending on the light and angle, just like the nail color,” said Johnson, who chose Chanel’s Le Vernis in Taboo ($27 at chanel.com), a gorgeous new violet shade that has a shimmer of red. And Johnson also offered a tip to prevent any manicure mishaps—like last-minute smudges. “Apply a thin layer of cuticle oil on top of the color,” advised Johnson, who has also painted the famous fingers of Naomi Watts and Rooney Mara. “If you bump one of your nails on the way out, it won’t dent the polish.” Great tip!
Kristen Stewart’s hairstyle for the 2013 Kids’ Choice Awards comes courtesy of Fekkai’s Adir Abergel. The look? An effortless look that contrasted with the clean lines of Stewart’s outfit. Here’s how to recreate it, straight from Abergel.
Grazia Daily: How did it come about that Kristen wore your design?
Osman: Her stylist took a liking to it, pulled it and and she loved it. I got lucky! It is always an honour when anybody takes to your designs. When it finds a home on someone like Kristen Stewart, I consider myself humbled and lucky.
