Kristen Stewart looked bright-eyed as she stepped out in Paris with silver smoky lids at the Balenciaga Spring 2013 show. While keeping the rest of her makeup minimal, Florabotanica’s newest face added some pizzazz to her peepers with a metallic smoky eye. To get the look, celebrity makeup artist Suzy Gerstein suggests starting with a clean eye and a sweep of bronze cream eyeshadow as a holding base. Then, getting as close to the lash line as possible, rim the entire eye with a creamy black pencil, extending the liner up toward the eye’s outer corners and into the creases. To recreate the Twilight star’s subtle fade, blend the harsh edges with a makeup brush or cotton swab. For the edgy silver look, sweep a deep pewter shimmer powder shadow from the lash line to the crease. Highlight with a shell hue, focusing on the center of the lid and inner corners. “To get a lighter color to really read, try dampening your brush before dipping into the shadow,” Gerstein suggests. Finish the look by curling the lashes and applying two generous coats of mascara.
